Here's some PTO news:

Thank you to all of the volunteers at Spring Fair!
So many people pitched in to make the Pelham School Spring Fair a huge success!
Many thanks to the businesses who donated for the fair:

Atkins Farms, Big Y, Henion Bakery, La Veracruzana, Roadhouse Café,Stop & Shop, Target, TJ’s Taylor Rental, Trader Joe’s

Several people helped unload all of the games from the shed and set up the gym on Saturday (James Harold, Kippy York, Heather Edwards, Lisa Candito).  Megan Cannon picked up the donation from Trader Joe’s Sunday morning and connected us with the Forest Park Zoo.  Several people came early on Sunday to blow up balloons (Emily Marriott), help organize the tickets, make copies and prepare food (Amie Weddleton-Reeves), create a new target for the very popular tarp target, inflate the bounce house, and set up tents (Charlie Thompson).  Marie Hall assembled the skee ball and bowling contraptions, put lollipops in the lollipop tree and donated more lollipops.  The whole Doire family helped get food and games ready.  Matt Wolaver heated the water and helped run the dunk tank, set up the squirt shot, the tent, and turned up the music for the party outside.  Steven Lawler let us use his grill and went out and bought more supplies during the event.

Big props go to the kind souls who braved the 50 degree weather and went in the dunk tank (Ashley Fuller, Erik Johnson, MS. THURSTON, Kelsey Geer, Owen Frenette, Lennie Ware, Renate Macedo, Sky Zephyr, MS. DESJARLAIS, Lily Gleason, Alex Yu and Renee O’Brien).  We collected 612 tickets at the dunk tank, which more than covered the $175 fee for the dunk tank.

Mr. G volunteered his time on Saturday and Sunday and did everything we needed logistically to pull this event together.  Mrs. Scott helped get the flyers home (twice) and baked (along with Ms. Desjarlais, Ms. Hunt, Lennie Ware, Ms. Quinlan, Ms. Gonzalez, Nurse Katy, Mrs. Gallagher and MANY parents).  We collected 1,196 tickets at the cake walk, that’s a record!

Many people signed up ahead of time (or jumped in when we were desperate) to help (Charlie Thompson, Tara Luce, Danna Brown, Monica Brown, Jordan Brown, Kelly Brown, Marie Hall, Lee Johnson, Jodi (last name?), Lisa Candito, Amber French, Sue Hawkins, Cara Rigali, Sarah Rogowski, Nat Woodruff, Trevor Baptiste, Loren Walker, Amie Weddleton-Reeves, Crystal Wolaver, Jen Jackowitz, Jim Hanson, Lee Halasz, Cara Castenson, Courtney Woodruff, Chris and Debbie Gould, Bridgette Hasbrouck, Lisa Zephyr, Patrick Zephyr, Todd Jansen, Kristin Balboni and Kelly Kalagher).

The face painting crew did amazing work (Heather Edwards, Erin Lawler, Crystal Wolaver and UMass students, Kerrin Bersani, Natalie Saloio).  Many thanks to all the folks involved with the raffle baskets, including room reps, parents and especially organizers Leanne Hunt and Sage Scott.  Please join us at the PTO meeting on Tuesday May 17 and you can pull a winning ticket out of a box!

Special thanks go to all of the volunteer Fire Department workers who brought a fire engine for children to tour.  Also to Ben at the Forest Park Zoo who brought several live animals, and April Hart of Have a Hart Riding Lessons who gave pony rides in the rain.
If I have inadvertently left your name out, I’m sorry!  This event couldn’t have happened without all of you!  Many thanks to all of the people who spent a lot of money at the fair!  Tickets for games raised about $1465!  The raffle raised more than $500!  The food table made about $427!  Amazing!

We will use these funds in the next 6 months to pay for the college scholarship, MCAS/PARCC snacks, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Back to School Picnic, ice cream social, harvest dinner, and Halloween party.  All of these events (and volunteers) help make Pelham School a special place!
